The story of 1900s and 1910s shoes
In the 1900s, long skirts covered most of the foot, and the boot was the everyday shoe for women. Lace-up and button boots reached above the ankle and were worn for walking, working and travelling. The Edwardian silhouette favoured a curved pompadour heel, while the 1910s brought more practical walking boots as women took a bigger part in work, sport and public life. By the end of the decade, shorter hemlines made oxfords and pumps more visible.
Our styles are based on originals from these two decades. We have kept the period details, from the long lacing and slim toe to the height and curve of the heel.
Every pair is made from full-grain leather in small production runs.
Many styles have discreet silicone inserts under the insole, so you can wear them all day. Several styles also come in wide fit, which is especially useful for tall boots.
