In the 1980s I had a pair of lace up boots that I dubbed my “Virginia Woolf” boots. This year, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of Woolf’s MRS DALLOWAY, I am delighted to have these Edwardian boots! They are very comfortable from day 1. I’m looking forward to walking on Bond St in October with these. Thanks, Memery!

I think these shoes are one of the most comfortable pair I own?! I regret not investing in a pair sooner. They’re also good quality boots, and I look forward to taking care of them so I can love them for years to come!

I was expecting a break-in period but I was able to wear them with no issues to a renaissance fair 2 days in a row. Leather is very soft. I did size up expecting my feet to swell in the feet, and got a size wide. It fit very well on larger calves. Overall, beautiful, comfortable and well crafted

Beautiful boots but definitely not true to size. Couldn’t even get my foot in to try on without taking complete lace out. I don’t see my feet as wide as never normally have to buy wide fit. I’m also 6 1/2 and purchased size 7.

I have wide feet and often shoes are too slim or in the case of boots I sometimes am not even able to put them on, because the ankle-part of the boot is more narrow than the wide ball of my foot! The wide version of these Alice boots doesn't have this flaw, it just takes some time to pull the many loops of the shoe-laces for adjusting while putting them on as well as for taking them off. But this long lacing is very accurate to the inspiring Edwardian era, so no complaint about that! And the wide version doesn't even look wide but slim and elegant. I am very very happy with my purchase!
